Scaling QA with Agentic AI: From Gatekeeper to Force Multiplier \| Berlin Meetup
Development is getting faster. But QA cannot simply scale by hiring testers at the same rate as developers. So what happens when QA changes its role?
At The Test Tribe’s 13th Berlin Meetup, Mofazzal Hossain will share how Cybus has evolved QA from a traditional gatekeeping function into an advisory and system-level quality function — and how agentic AI can help make that model scalable. Instead of asking AI to simply write tests, the approach encodes testing expertise into repo-based skills that are versioned with the code, reviewed through pull requests, and executed in CI.

Session – From Gatekeeper to Force Multiplier
[Speaker: Mofazzal Hossain, QA Lead at Cybus](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mofazzal/)
The session explores how QA teams can scale their impact by changing where and how they apply their expertise. At Cybus, tickets are explicitly routed as dev-verified, advisory, or QA-owned. Developers verify their own features against a test plan shaped and reviewed by QA, while QA focuses its capacity on system-level, non-functional, and other areas where deeper quality expertise is needed.
The next layer is agentic AI: encoding QA knowledge into reusable, version-controlled skills that can move from a Jira ticket to an executable test.
You’ll see how this model works in practice, including the skills currently used in production and the limitations that still require human judgment.
How This Meetup Solves Your Problem
• QA is struggling to keep pace with development? Explore a model that scales QA expertise without simply scaling headcount. • QA is becoming a bottleneck? See how explicit ownership can help distribute verification across developers, advisory QA, and QA-owned testing. • AI-generated tests aren't enough? Explore how repo-based skills can turn testing expertise into reusable automation. • Worried about trusting AI agents? Understand why outputs remain drafts until reviewed and where agents can still produce confident but incorrect results. • Not sure what governance AI testing needs? Explore the considerations that should be addressed before rolling agentic workflows out.
Why Show Up on 7 October?
• Because development speed is increasing, and QA needs new ways to scale its impact. • Because “issues found by QA” may not be the most useful measure of a modern QA team's value. • Because you’ll see how QA expertise can become part of the codebase through repo-based AI skills. • Because advisory QA can shift the focus from testing everything to applying quality expertise where it matters most. • Because understanding the limits of agentic AI is just as important as understanding its capabilities.
