EPIC: Semaphore Lake & Locomotive Mountain Day Hike...
About the event
If needed, I will rent a 6 to 7-passenger SUV so as many as possible can attend. The cost of rental and fuel will be divided by 7 people, so it's the cheapest way to travel. A $50 deposit is required to secure your seat. We will drive 35+ kms on one of the worst FSR!! You do not need to travel in the SUV in order to attend this hike. However, low profile vehicles will strip everything off the bottom.
We leave early due to extremely limited parking, the 2.5 hr drive to get there, and to spend as much time exploring as we can. This is an all day event!!
Read ENTIRE event description, so you don't ask questions already answered or leave gear behind. Those who refuse to bring their 10 Essentials should NOT expect others to solve your problems. If one can't afford all 10 Essentials [yet], please contact me for ideas so you can attend AND stay safe. ATTENDANCE: Only RSVP if you ARE attending! We don't need a list of those who can't attend or can't do it.
By RSVP'ing Yes for this event, you acknowledge having read and agreeing to the rules and waiver for this group. To have your RSVP Accepted, every attendee must display a clear, unobstructed and current close up photo of themselves. Also, if you do NOT answer all of the questions in your profile, and/or if you input fake info to answer the RSVP questions, then your RSVP will be Ignored or Rejected. Until corrected, those in the Wait List ahead of you with a proper profile will be Accepted before you.
FITNESS: Please make sure you ARE ABLE to go the distance and CAN do the elevation!! The pace will be intermediate, as we want to accomplish our goal in a timely manner; but hikes often divide into two groups to accommodate various paces. While I strive to leave no one behind, each hiker is solely responsible for their well-being and their capacity to finish the hike! If you cannot continue, you are solely responsible to return to parking lot. This may require you to wait for your driver to return or for a driver to wait until all their passengers return hours later.
SAFETY: This event is weather dependent! Camping and hiking will ONLY occur under ideal conditions. For example, if there is NO significant rain/snow that could compromise trail conditions, if there is NO increase in the need for professional gear, and/or there is NO increase in avalanche conditions that could contribute to unnecessary risk(s) of injury. If there is any risk of postponing the event, hikers will be notified Friday by 9am. Leave a trip plan with a responsible person, explaining your destination, the route you are taking, who is with you, and your estimated return time!
HEALTH: If you have a medical conditions that could be a factor during the hike, speak to the host so I can be prepared in event of an emergency. This is voluntary. All information is…
