Mário and the City: The Harlequin of São Paulo

Inspired by the reflections of Aleilton Fonseca in O Arlequim da Pauliceia, this guided tour with the Educational Team invites visitors to explore the exhibition “Eu Persigo São Paulo – Mário e a Cidade”. The experience aims to convey the poetic way in which Mário de Andrade observed, recorded, and interpreted the city, turning his urban experiences into literary work, cultural thought, and memory building. At the end of the tour, participants will create an affective map, transforming memories into cartography. By revisiting places that shaped their lives, each person is invited to recognize the beauty of their own journey, valuing their origins, memories, and the affections that shape their identity, making each perspective a unique story. This activity is part of the official program of Jornada do Patrimônio 2026, an initiative of the State System of Cultural Heritage of São Paulo (SISEP), a program of the Secretariat of Culture, Economy, and Creative Industries of the State of São Paulo, managed by the Energy and Sanitation Foundation (FES).
