Trapped inside a world where fantasy and reality begin to rot into one another, I am confronted by a procession of strange, seductive and horrifying versions of myself. Perfect ballerinas, grieving bodies, an innocent child, a sad man, an aggressor. Each arrives offering something I desperately want - beauty, intimacy, pleasure, escape. Only for desire to become increasingly distorted and dangerous. Part fashion performance, part dance, part theatre, explores the body as both object and performer: something to be watch, to be desired, disciplined, punished, seduced. Drawing on the visual language of ballet, horror, cinema, club culture and performance art, the piece moves through tensions of beauty and degradation, tenderness and violence, fantasy and disgust. SEDUCE coincides with an original costume collection created for the performance, transforming the stage into a living fashion spectacle where clothing, movement and the body become inseparable. SEDUCE With original music by Joe Walsh (imithe), is a filthy, seedy, feverish, dreamlike collision of fashion, dance and theatre - a wet dream that slowly reveals itself as a nightmare.
