Hike Barton Creek Greenbelt from Spyglass Trailhead to Seismic Wall and Back
About the event
We'll hike a total of 5 miles on an out-and-back portion of the Barton Creek Greenbelt from the Spyglass Trailhead to the Seismic Climbing Wall near Loop 360. This section of the Greenbelt trail is mostly level with a packed dirt surface and many rocky areas. We'll be walking at a moderately brisk pace for a good exercise hike. There are several areas with dramatic limestone cliffs. We will pass a few climbing walls including the popular Gus Fruh Wall within the first mile from the Spyglass entrance and the Seismic Wall just east of Loop 360 where we turn around to go back. There may also be a possible 'alien' sighting.
We'll meet by the large sign "Spyglass Trailhead at Barton Creek Greenbelt". There is plenty of street parking along Spyglass Drive.
There is a reasonable amount of shade along this route. Still, please bring plenty of water.
No pets please.
Taco Deli across the street from Spyglass trailhead entrance if anyone wants to get together for lunch after the hike.
