Processes in editorial illustration The workshop proposes a first encounter with editorial illustration through practical drawing and painting exercises. We will develop different strategies for creating images from literary and descriptive texts, exploring the relationship between narrative, composition and visual language. The activities will be guided by questions specific to the different stages of editorial illustration. Over five meetings, we will do an observational drawing practice at Parque da Luz, the creation of a book cover based on a short story common to the whole group and an exercise in character development based on a descriptive text. In the last meeting, each participant will produce an illustration for a book cover of their choice. Through references, group discussions and individual follow-up, the workshop seeks to present fundamentals of editorial illustration and encourage the development of an authorial language, offering participants an approach to the creative processes of this area. Prior registration is required. Registration via the link from 08/19 at 10am to 08/28 at 6pm, or until the 20 available spots are filled. Recommended for ages 14 and up. Free activity.
