Future Dreaming
About the event
Future Dreaming 2026: Voices Beyond the Walls is a powerful exhibition presenting 217 original artworks created by First Nations artists across fifteen correctional facilities in Victoria. Centred on self-expression, cultural connection, and personal aspirations, the exhibition shares unmediated perspectives on healing, Country, and self-determination.
Because incarcerated artists cannot physically attend, visitors connect directly through pre-recorded audio reflections, written statements, and digital postcards, with an in-gallery post box to send messages back. Beyond the exhibition, attendees can participate in weaving workshops, artist-led tours, and guided 'slow look' mindfulness sessions.
Each 30 × 30cm artwork is affordably priced between $180 and $330, with 100 per cent of sales going directly to the artists, building vital economic and cultural pathways for the future.
