Zeit für Kost: The well-dressed table

This year's season at the MAK Geymüllerschlössel, featuring the Zeit für Kost [A Season to Savor] series, once again takes visitors on a journey into the world of cuisine and design. Continuing the series developed in cooperation with POPCHOP in 2024, this year’s presentation consists of five events on one day per month over five months, in a format that places design, cuisine, and art in a context appealing to all of our senses. Each of the five events focuses on a specially curated well-dressed table. The curators have created unique settings for their tables using ceramics, glass, textiles, flower arrangements, and objects from a wide range of sources. Historical allusions stand shoulder-to-shoulder with contemporary design, each table forming an atmospheric ensemble that combines collage, still-life, and tableau vivant. The culinary offerings at each event complement the table designs: for each day a food pop-up has been invited to collaborate on a special menu that echoes, develops, and translates into culinary terms the materials, colors, textures, and moods of that day’s table.
