Grachtenfestival: Dianto Reed Quintet
About the event
The Dianto Reed Quintet performs chamber music by Hoperkirk, De Falla, and Boulanger during the Grachtenfestival in Nieuw Land National Park in Lelystad. The five Spanish musicians combine rhythmic influences, lyrical melodies, and modern soundscapes. They actively involve you in the music through movement and direct communication. Chamber music with color and contrast The Dianto Reed Quintet presents a program featuring works by Hoperkirk, Manuel de Falla , and Lili Boulanger . Rhythmic Spanish influences, lyrical melodies, and modern soundscapes alternate. The quintet demonstrates the extent of color and contrast possible within the wind quintet format. Music as an experience The ensemble consciously seeks new forms of presentation. Music, movement, and direct communication with the audience come together in a single concert. You do not just listen; you become part of the performance. A young ensemble with a big name The Dianto Reed Quintet consists of five Spanish musicians who met at the conservatory. Since its founding in 2020, the ensemble has grown rapidly. In 2024, the quintet won the Kersjes Prize, one of the most important Dutch prizes for chamber music ensembles. The ensemble has performed at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and at the NJO Muziekzomer.
