Creator Series: Inside the Relationship Dish Podcast
About the event
Ever wonder what it takes to get a podcast off the ground and keep it running? Join Iona Monk and Pam Stewart, creators of the Relationship Dish podcast, alongside their producer Jenn Jensen for a discussion about podcasting. As regular users of the Inspiration Lab, Iona and Pam record their show right here in our recording studios. They will share their professional journey of turning initial concepts into more than 150 successful episodes. This session is designed to inspire you to launch or advance your own creative projects. It offers valuable insights whether you are developing a new idea or seeking the motivation to continue an existing show. A dedicated Q&A session will provide you with the opportunity to ask the presenters specific questions about the entire podcasting process, including hosting, recording, editing, publishing, and marketing. -- About Relationship Dish The Relationship Dish podcast is hosted by longtime friends, UBC graduate school classmates, and couples and family therapists Iona Monk and Pam Stewart. Launched in 2018, the show features over 150 episodes where the hosts share their own personal vulnerabilities and struggles to normalize the challenges of building and maintaining healthy relationships. By pulling back the curtain on their own lives, Iona and Pam aim to destigmatize therapy, show listeners they are not alone, and encourage couples to seek help sooner rather than later. About the presenters Iona Monk, MA is a registered clinical counsellor with over twenty-five years of clinical experience helping couples to create their best relationships. She is the co-creator of the popular podcast Relationship Dish, where she and her co-host Pam Stewart openly discuss their own romantic relationships to help reduce the stigma that listeners may hold about their own marital struggles. Monk holds a master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of British Columbia. Her first book, Happy for the Long Haul: A Practical Guide to Creating a Marriage That Goes the Distance is a culmination of her clinical, professional and personal work and offers readers the exact tools that she uses in sessions and in her own marriage. Monk currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband and dog. Pamela Stewart is a registered clinical counsellor, with graduate degrees from the University of British Columbia and University of Colorado at Boulder. She truly believes that we all grow and evolve most significantly in the context of relationships. Pamela’s clinical passion is supporting parents and children to facilitate the healthiest attachment relationship possible. Children’s early experiences of love, safety, and security occur within the dynamic interaction with parents and caregivers. These interactions shape that child’s later experiences as partners, lovers and friends. Pamela is aware that no matter how much theoretical knowledge she accumulates, the bottom line is having the courage and commitment to put that knowledge into the day-to-day practice of her own relationships. Pamela lives in Vancouver, Canada. She enjoys and nurtures her relationships with her two daughters, two grandsons, two grand dogs and her dear friends. Jenn Jensen is a marketing expert, publishing consultant, and co-founder of Copilot Publishing.
