In ARK, choreographer and dancer Connor Schumacher asks the question of how you keep yourself standing in a world that completely surrounds you. The performance explores the tension between what the outside world expects of you and what is going on inside you. Competition, empathy, authority and care take on a different meaning than you might be used to.
You are more than a spectator
The performance combines tight choreography with an absurdist character. An MC guides you through an environment in which dancers and audience together feel the toll of capital, status and entertainment. Connor Schumacher makes you not just a spectator, but an active participant. The boundary between stage and auditorium blurs.
