47% of LA County's population is Latino, most Mexican. LA is often referred to as the world's 2nd largest Mexican city. There is a sizable Oaxacan community, with Arlington Heights considered the mecca. Gish Back is recognized as the epicenter of the Oaxacan community. They host many cultural events.
In addition to their famous mole sauces, Oaxacans are know for barbacoa: Pit-roasted BBQ lamb and goat, sometimes other meat like beef or chicken
