HINTER

ABOUT THE FILM: A Deaf backpacker finds himself hunted by something not human in the depths of the Black Forest, with all his friends already dead. His escape will lead him to a cabin with a farmer who speaks no English. Now the men must decide if each is a threat or a help and also contend with the thing beyond the door, which will stop at nothing to destroy them. Britt Falardeau’s exquisite debut is a real display of filmmaking skill and verve – eschewing any spoken dialogue for different modes of visual storytelling and conjuring an environment of dread and wonder, she is paired with two extraordinary actors – Harold Foxx and Daniel Novick – who both deliver exceptional performances. Beyond just an exercise in horror, HINTER is a truly sublime piece of cinema that also displays an extraordinary heart. FORMAT: DCP COUNTRY: USA
