Born from the daring dream of four friends in Berlin, *Loving Lovis* was shot with one camera, one mic, no script and no crew, its stories unfolding in real time. A romantic ideal four years in the making, the film follows the story of three friends as they navigate between freedom, friendship and love, drifting through Berlin's vibrant neighbourhoods with a soundtrack of entirely local music. Its unique blend of melodrama and mumblecore is brought to life by the raw authenticity of three young actors, whose lives uncannily mirror the film.
Synopsis: Young writer Nate moves to Berlin and meets Wena, a mysterious girl who brings him flowers every day. They fall in love, but there’s one thing in the way — Lovis, Wena’s troubled childhood friend, returning from a psychiatric ward. The three form an unlikely bond, but as Nate and Wena’s romance fades, they discover that *loving Lovis* is the only thing they have in common.
