Ceramics on Saturdays: summer chip and dip
About the event
Don't be a lazy Susan. Spend two Saturday afternoons creating your own summer-ready chip and dip platter. With guidance from an expert tutor, you'll create an earthenware platter using slab-building techniques and slump moulds. In the second session, you'll experiment with underglazes and carving techniques to develop surface decoration and add your own unique designs. By the end of the course, you’ll have crafted a one-of-a-kind chip and dip platter ready for the kiln. Your work will be fired and ready to collect approximately 4 weeks after the course, giving you plenty of time to finesse your French onion dip. This course takes place on Saturday afternoons over 2 weeks: Week 1: Saturday 17 October, 2pm to 4pm Week 2: Saturday 24 October, 2pm to 4pm Small class size Level: designed for all level students Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes Bring: please bring your own apron and towel The ticket purchaser must hold a valid concession card We aim to present inclusive and accessible events.
