Movie Parties: Mean Girls (2004)

This party's gonna be so fetch There's a Regina George in every high school in America. That's precisely why MEAN GIRLS is so relatable, and also why it's so important. Comedic goddess Tina Fey based the screenplay on a non-fiction book about the social patterns of teenage girls and then harvested those authentic situations for priceless nuggets of hilarity. This movie is funny because it's true to life, although the cast, including Fey, Rachel McAdams, Lizzy Caplan, Amy Poehler, and Lindsay Lohan (in the best role of her career), definitely had something to do with it. It's a portrayal of teen politics so accurate that it should be required viewing in every school across America. And given the stellar cast and hilarious script, it's easy to see why this movie so quickly earned a permanent place in our cultural lexicon, not to mention our everyday vocabulary.
