Phytotypy: impressions on leaves

Introductory workshop to phytotypy, a technique combining photography, nature and experimentation. Artist Lana Maciel presents the history and principles of the process, guiding participants in creating printed images on leaves gathered from the museum garden. No prior experience required. Lana Maciel is a visual artist, educator and researcher in experimental photography specializing in historical and alternative photographic processes—phytotypy, anthotypy and cyanotype—exploring relationships between image, memory and nature. She has led workshops at MIS – Museu da Imagem e do Som de São Paulo, Festival de Fotografia Analógica de São Paulo, Sesc 24 de maio and Consolação, Senac and other art and photography venues.
