MeshCore 101: 1: Build your own off grid communication system

How can small LoRa devices communicate with each other when mobile networks are unavailable?MeshCore does not rely on cell towers or satellites to operate; it is an off-grid communication system. And if you use batteries for powering the MeshCore device, no need for electric grid power either. So join this workshop, of you would like to know how to make an ideal tool for emergency communications or wilderness search & rescue operations.In this workshop, you will get an introduction to mesh networking and MeshCore, a communication protocol for decentralized, long-range communication. The technology can be used for everything from IoT projects and sensor monitoring to communication in areas without conventional network coverage.After the introduction, you will get hands-on experience setting up a MeshCore companion node. We will then test the technology in practice by sending messages between devices placed in different locations in and around the building.The workshop is aimed primarily at people who are curious about DIY electronics, communication technology or IoT.
