Throughout August, Unibes Cultural and Academia Judaica offer a four-session course led by Olívio Guedes examining Jewish history and its cultural legacy. Sessions span from ancient Mesopotamian civilizations to the contemporary world, tracing connections between Jewish tradition, philosophy, art and Western intellectual development. Each class combines presentation with participant discussion, supported by visual materials from art history. Olívio Guedes holds a postdoctoral degree in Art Criticism and History from USP, serves as cultural director of the Board of the University of Haifa in Brazil, and is a researcher specializing in art history, culture and Jewish thought.
