Board Game Afternoon at Strathcona Community Centre
About the event
As an extension to our summer board game events, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting an afternoon of board games on September 19th, indoors at the Community Room at Strathcona Community Centre at 601 Keefer St, Vancouver.
This is an indoor tabletop board gaming event. Free to attend, all are welcome.
• We will be bringing an assortment of about 30 games, and our volunteers can help suggest and teach if you're interested in trying something new • You're welcome to bring your own games as well • This is a drop-in event which runs from 12:45pm until 4:30pm. Come when you can and leave when you need to!
Other stuff:
• If any of the games are missing pieces, the dry erase markers aren't working, etc, please let one of the volunteers know. We usually have extras. • If anyone is being a jerk, please let a volunteer know. Sometimes people just aren't aware of their jerkiness; sometimes they need to be booted. • Please keep an eye on your personal belongings. The organizers and volunteers are not responsible for lost/missing items. • Photos and/or videos may be taken throughout the event - usually wider shots of numerous people, or close-ups of the games where we try to avoid faces. If you don't want to appear in any photos or videos, please let us know when you arrive and we will try to not include you, though we can't guarantee it.
Parking & Transit information:
• not far from Main Street Science World skytrain station and close to bus routes • if you're driving, there is a parking lot (shared with the school) and some free street parking nearby. If you're parking on the street in a permit-only area, double-check with the front desk to see if you can get a parking pass.
