Are You Present in Your Own Life? From distraction to participation
About the event
Are You Present in Your Own Life? *From distraction to participation — an evening of curiosity and self-exploration*
I would love to invite you to a relaxed evening of curiosity, simple experiential exercises and conversation around one question: How present are we in the life we are actually living?
We can be busy, productive and constantly occupied, yet still move through much of life on automatic pilot. We react before we understand why, repeat familiar patterns, miss what is happening in our relationships, or rush so quickly toward the next thing that parts of our life pass without being fully experienced.
So what is the cost of being absent from our own life? And what becomes possible when we begin to notice these movements as they happen?
Many contemplative traditions point to a simple principle: what we can see clearly no longer has to govern us blindly. Inspired by the work of Dhyan Vimal, this evening offers a space to slow down, notice our own patterns of distraction and automatic reaction, and perhaps discover something about ourselves that usually goes unseen.
No previous experience with self-reflection is needed. It is simply a chance to explore, meet other curious people, and perhaps come away seeing your everyday life a little differently.
One question may stay with you: What part of my life do I not want to miss while I am living it?
The event is in person and completely free of charge.
Because the room has limited capacity, registration is needed to keep the numbers in check. If you register, please only do so if you genuinely intend to come, so that none of the limited places go unused. You are very welcome to come on your own or bring a friend — just make sure your friend registers separately as well.
Come as you are. Bring only your curiosity.
