Join us at Waag on September 3 for the Det Digit Art House show & tell. Discover the works Anna Musikhina and Werner van der Zwan created during their residency, at the intersection of technology and ecology. A show & tell by the artists
During Rerooting, artists Anna Musikhina and Werner van der Zwan present the works they created during their residency at Det Digit Art House. During this show & tell, they share their experiments, creative process and the ideas behind their artistic research. Discover how art, technology and ecology come together in new ways of exploring our relationship with the world around us.
Technology, ecology and hidden connections
Rerooting explores the connections between technology, nature and the invisible processes that shape our environment. Musikhina investigates radio frequency as an invisible layer surrounding us. These signals can reveal how humans, animals and plants are connected to each other and their surroundings. Van der Zwan explores the collaboration between fungi and mechanical sculptures, investigating how living organisms and technology can influence one another. The artists’ research is inspired by regenerative principles and ideas from, among others, permacomputing. Their work invites you to look differently at the hidden systems, signals and relationships that exist around us.
