About the Programme
The Abilities Unlocked Series spotlights the lived experiences, skills, and talents of persons with disabilities, strengthening self-advocacy through inclusive programmes.
This session introduces participants to the life cycle of Xiao Bai Cai, a commonly consumed leafy vegetable, through an engaging combination of sharing, demonstration, and hands-on learning.
Led by trainees from Bizlink Centre’s BLOOMERS programme, participants will explore how a tiny seed develops into a fresh and nutritious vegetable. The session highlights key growth stages—from germination to harvesting—using simple hydroponics techniques.
Participants can expect:
• An introduction to the life cycle of Xiao Bai Cai
• A visual showcase of plant growth stages (e.g. Day 0, Day 3, Day 14, Day 30)
• A live demonstration of simple hydroponics planting techniques
• Sharing by BLOOMERS trainees on their learning experiences
At the end of the session, participants will also be invited to:
• View real plant samples at different growth stages
• Explore a simple table-top hydroponics display
• Interact with BLOOMERS trainees and take photos
• Receive a simple “Grow-at-Home” seed starting kit to continue their learning journey
This programme combines plant science, sustainability education, and inclusive storytelling, making it suitable for families, students, and community groups.
