Bless Their Little Hearts

Powerful portrait of a Black working class family trying to get by, in spite of domestic tensions. A key work of the L.A. Rebellion movement – a groundbreaking current within Afro-American cinema, with a great screenplay and camerawork by Charles Burnett. Charlie Banks (Nate Hardman) is looking hard for some steady work. While his wife Andais (Kaycee Moore) tries to supplement the family of five’s income, Charlie seeks to soothe his bruised masculinity in an extramarital affair – putting both his marriage and his family on the line.
