Kick-off: Jazzfest Community Week & Kiez-Session #1
About the event
With the Jazzfest Community Week 2026, this year’s festival edition continues the collaboration with local initiatives and students of the Jazz Institute Berlin in the Moabit neighbourhood from 26 October to 1 November. Since 2023, these community and outreach activities have brought together people of different generations and backrounds through free events and formats that foster creative participation and open up new spaces for exchange and encounter. The festival week kicks off at PAS Berlin with a screening of the award-winning experimental short film DREAM BABY DREAM, created in collaboration with 60 Berlin-based participants as part of Jazzfest Berlin 2025. It is followed by Kiez-Session #1 featuring Sole Levid, a band formed by students of the Jazz Institute Berlin, open to anyone interested in making music and participating actively. The initiatives participating in Jazzfest Community Week also come together to present their work and invite visitors to engage in dialogue.
