Organising Principle Ratio: Solo Show by Stephen Boyd

Organising Principle Ratio is a solo exhibition by Toronto artist Stephen Boyd (sspboyd). Boyd has been producing work using simple rules written in code since 2003. His practice produces hard-edged geometric abstraction, realised as giclee prints or with cyanotype and ink on paper and panel. In this show, every piece has an embedded variable named "OPR". This organising principle ratio govern how shapes are arranged, repeated, divided, scaled, and coloured. Where the pattern leaves room for chance, sunlight and wet chemistry take over creating results that code cannot predict or replicate. The exhibition includes works on paper and panel and one animation on screen. Opening reception: Saturday, October 24, 3 to 6 p.m. Full exhibition: October 21st to November 8th, 2026.
