Paris Design Week: Anthony Guerrée at the Musée Bourdelle
About the event
On the occasion of Paris Design Week, the Musée Bourdelle presents the installation Contrepoint by French designer Anthony Guerrée, from 8 to 27 September 2026, in part of its permanent collections.
With Contrepoint, Anthony Guerrée sets sculpture and design in dialogue in the manner of a musical counterpoint.
Within the Musée Bourdelle, the sculptures already compose a silent score, made of presences, voids, and tensions. Anthony Guerrée inscribes new forms, in wood, glass, textile, and earth, which dialogue with this existing without ever imposing themselves.
Contrepoint proposes an immersion in the creative process of a contemporary designer. The installation explores the possible correspondences between sculpture and design and places in view different material and formal researches carried out by Anthony Guerrée with the plastic universe of Bourdelle. His creations establish a subtle dialogue with his forms, his rhythms, and his relationship to matter.
Contrepoint proposes a reading of design as a sculptural practice. Objects appear there in different forms: fragments, matrices, prototypes, finished pieces. The visitor is thus invited to enter a research space, where materials, forms, and gestures dialogue with the spirit of the place.
