K-Drama Talk: The Glory vs. Teach You a Lesson (참교육)

Join us as we discuss and compare two popular K-dramas that explore school violence from completely different perspectives.

• The Glory (더 글로리, 2022), starring Song Hye-kyo (송혜교), follows a victim of school violence who spends years planning her revenge after receiving no justice. • Teach You a Lesson (참교육, 2026) imagines a special government task force stepping in to restore order, protect students, and hold bullies accountable.

Together, we'll discuss:

• The characters, casting, and standout performances • Storytelling, plot, memorable scenes, and emotional impact • Which drama feels more realistic—and why? Which ending is more satisfying? Which approach is more effective: personal revenge or institutional intervention? Why did the writers choose such different visions of justice? • Why do you think these two dramas resonate with international audiences? Which themes are universal, and which are uniquely Korean?

To get the most out of the discussion, we recommend watching at least one of the two dramas beforehand. The discussion will assume familiarity with both shows and will contain major spoilers. Whether you've seen *The Glory*, *Teach You a Lesson*, or both, come ready to share your thoughts in a friendly, spoiler-filled discussion with fellow K-drama fans!
