OPENING NIGHT: BIG SCREEN. BIG CAMP. TINY PARK. Thursday, September 24 | Galaxy Theatres Austin + Rain on 4th Help us kick off The Big Queer Weekend red carpet-style! The celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. at Galaxy Theatres Austin with a Red Carpet Reception featuring filmmakers, special guests, photo ops, and plenty of opening-night energy. Then head into the theater for two films with their creators in the room! Austin filmmaker Margaret Barry’s The Best Little Tiny Park in Texas celebrates the wonderfully weird story of BEPI Park, with Margaret and the park’s creator and film subject Gary Schumann in attendance. Our Opening Night feature turns the camp all the way up with Lady Champagne, D’Arcy Drollinger’s outrageous sequel to aGLIFF favorite Sh*t & Champagne, with writer, director and star D’Arcy Drollinger joining us live in Austin. And the night doesn’t end when the credits roll! Follow us downtown to Rain on 4th for the Official Opening Night After Party, where D’Arcy, Margaret, Gary, fellow filmmakers, special guests, and friends of aGLIFF will keep the celebration going with music, dancing, and signature cocktails featuring Deep Eddy Vodka.
