Portuguese professor Gisela Carla Alcaide de Sousa teaches Tile Painting Workshop at the Museum of Sacred Art in São Paulo The Museum of Sacred Art in São Paulo, in partnership with Trilógicas Faculties, promotes on August 30, from 10am to 1pm, the Portuguese Tile Painting Workshop, taught by Portuguese visual artist Gisela Carla Alcaide de Sousa, specialist in stained glass and Portuguese tile work. The workshop invites the public to discover and experience one of Portugal's most beautiful artistic traditions. During the activity, participants will learn basic principles of tile painting, become familiar with characteristic patterns of Portuguese tile work and produce their own piece, which they can take home. More than a decorative technique, Portuguese tile work is an artistic expression that brings together influences from different cultures and centuries of tradition, becoming an important historical and cultural heritage. Trained in Conservation and Restoration in Lisbon, and specialized in Tile Painting by the Royal House of Tile, Gisela Carla Alcaide de Sousa dedicates herself to the preservation and teaching of this traditional art, sharing technical, historical and aesthetic knowledge in an accessible way to the public. In addition to stimulating creativity, the workshop provides an experience of contemplation and development of artistic sensitivity through the principles of composition, rhythm and harmony present in Portuguese tile work.
