About the event

He makes his instrument dance and sing in a colorful and passionate program where Spanish traditions and Latin American warmth come together. Tonight: two worlds, one feeling. Marcin Dylla
'One of the most gifted guitarists on the planet,' The Washington Post called Marcin Dylla. After his debut in the Kleine Zaal in 2016, he is finally back in the Masters of the Guitar series. Dylla began his studies in his native Poland, then traveled to Katowice and Switzerland, and studied in Maastricht. The shower of awards on his resume is impressive. But more important is his expressive musicality, which he employs across many periods of music history. Tonight, Dylla treats the audience to a Spanish-Mexican program, in which Turina, Tárrega, and Ponce follow one another.
Spanish-Mexican program
One of Spain's most important export products to Latin America has been the guitar. The instrument, which initially accompanied regional songs in Spanish regions, developed its own universal voice. The Spaniards Tárrega, Manén, and Turina demonstrate this in dance-like, colorful works with an international touch: Turina transforms his longing for Seville into music in Paris, while Tárrega chooses a Polish dance form for his Mazurkas. In Kitab (Arabic for 'book'), Sánchez-Verdu refers to old Andalusia, and Rodrigo writes a tribute to Manuel de Falla. And from Mexico, Manuel Ponce connects old European structures with Latin warmth. In this spectacular program: two worlds, one feeling.
