Welcome to the Socrates Cafe in Madrid. Socrates Cafe is an international network of communities of meetups. This is an ENGLISH speaking event.

IMPORTANT about the venue: \ *Please help us keep the space available for future events. As this is a community center, make sure to take all your belongings and dispose of any trash before leaving. Please leave the room as you found it. \ *The entrance is inside Mercado de Ibiza. Look for the metal door with signs pointing to the Centro Cultural, which is located within the market building. Please refer to the pictures posted in the comments. \ *If you're having trouble finding the venue, feel free to post a comment on the event page and the organizers will help you find your way.
IMPORTANT about attendance: \ *Because the waitlist is getting quite long, if you can't join please make sure to update your RSVP before 5PM on Thursday so people in the waiting list can update their plans accordingly. • If you have RSVPed before Thursday and RSVP no in the last 24 hours or don't show up twice, then you will be flagged to not be able to join future meetups. (This does not apply to you if you were in the waiting list and only got in after 5PM on the day before the meetup)
At Socrates Café meetups, people discuss thought-provoking questions about life and the world we live in. We do it as a dialogue, not as a debate or a lecture. You do not need to be a philosopher just talkative, a good listener and curious human being. In the end we end up being a group of people talking about life. What makes these events a success are the participants, who come from all walks of life with open minds, ready to learn and form opinions through respectful discussions with others. At the start of each meeting, the facilitator invites participants to suggest topics. We then vote and choose the most popular topic for discussion. RULES
1. Please be on time! We will start at 17:00 so if you arrive late, please join quietly. If you are a first timer, make sure you take extra time for finding the location. 2. If something unexpected happens and you can't join, please update your RSVP as soon as possible. 3. You may disagree with others, but please do so respectfully without personal attacks.
