Gavin Reijnders - Jazzebelle

'Jazzebelle' is not a fiery manifesto, but an ode to nuance in a time that mostly shouts. A musical evening full of fun with a healthy dose of self-mockery and old-fashioned glamour in an increasingly conservative modern age. Together with jazz composer Nadine Rypkema, he transforms Theater Bellevue into a comedy jazz bar. With music that he describes himself as 'somewhere between Hannah Montana and Chet Baker'. Jazzebelle

In his second cabaret show Jazzebelle, Gavin Reijnders tries to stay positive above all else. Although that proves to be more difficult than ever, the Ik Ga Stuk! winner has set his sights on one thing: a fun evening full of show and jazz. After all, he is more of a showgirl than an activist. What responsibility does he have as a flamboyant theatre diva anyway? Is it his job to entertain people in difficult times, or should he make a statement about all the goings-on in the world? And perhaps even more importantly: Does he feel like it? Maybe he is better suited to planning the party after all the misery.
