Nature Walk, Arnold Arboretum
About the event
Few places are as beautiful and accessible as the Arnold Arboretum. If you want to meet wonderful folks and explore amazing paths, this group is for you! Below are directions to our meeting location, helpful links, and information.
Directions: We meet at the Forest Hills Gate of the Arnold Arboretum at 10 AM every Saturday. Forest Hills Gate is on the Arborway.
Please note: This is not the gate directly across from Forest Hills Station. (That's Washington Gate.) Forest Hills Gate is a five-minute walk from the T station and is more accessible to pedestrians, drivers, and T riders.
From the MBTA: In Forest Hills Station, turn left as you exit the turnstile and follow signs for the Arborway. Cross the street and walk uphill along the Arborway, following the stone wall to your left. This is about a 5-minute walk.
Driving: In your GPS, enter the address "Forest Hills Road." This will take you to the Forest Hills Gate. Parking is available on the Arborway.
Where to find us if you miss us: Our first stop is the Hunnewell Visitor's Center, where you can use the restroom and fill your water bottle. You're welcome to meet us there if you'd like. We get there between 10:15 and 10:25 am. We're the folks who form a circle on the lawn.
General Information:
• Our walks are approximately two hours (10 am-12 pm).
• Please wear shoes or boots with good traction, as not all paths are paved. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, extra layers, and a water bottle.
• We walk at a moderately brisk pace. We stop for a rest break in the middle. If you need to leave early, you're welcome to; just tell one of the group leaders.
• Restrooms and water are available in the Hunnewell Visitor's Center (our first stop) and along the trail. (Please bring a bottle for water.)
• Dogs are welcome, on a leash. Please bring water for your fur baby and a dog coat, if appropriate for your fur baby's breed.
