Silent Book Club Darling Square Library
About the event
Is Silent Book Club the place to make inroads into your To Be Read list, or take a break from digital devices, or maybe relax and focus because that's what everyone else is doing? What's different about a Silent Book Club? No Assigned Reading: Bring whatever you like, in any format, whether that is fiction, non-fiction, plays, poetry, manga, e-books, or audiobooks with headphones. It doesn't have to be the same material as someone else but go for it if you find like-minded people. Anyone with a quiet activity like journal writing is welcome too. Optional to Socialise: There is no homework, and no pressure answer questions or share opinions. Stay for a chat or not, it's up to you. Inclusive Atmosphere: Free and no bookings required, just drop in. Recommended for 18 and over. We meet on the second Sunday of each month. 1:30-1:45pm - Gathering time: Optional to chat, or start your reading or quiet activity. 1:45-3:00pm - Quiet time: Focus on reading or quiet activity. 3:00-3:30pm - Closing time: Optional to continue your reading or activity, chat, or leave.
