[LOLA 2026] From Comics to Culture: Graphic Non-Fiction in Singapore

About the Event

Discover how non-fiction graphic novels have transformed the way we tell stories and explore history. Adapted from Felix Cheong's BiblioAsia article, this showcase explores the growing popularity of graphic non-fiction in Singapore and how the medium brings history, personal experiences and social issues to life through the powerful combination of words and illustrations.

Featuring a curated selection of locally published works, the showcase highlights a range of genres, including graphic memoir, graphic biography and graphic medicine, demonstrating how graphic storytelling can make complex topics more engaging, accessible and meaningful for readers of all ages.
