Is this your event?About the event
This concert at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ combines two extremes. On one side is the world of childlike innocence with Mozart's lively sonata and Tchaikovsky's Album pour enfants. In contrast stands Prokofiev's Seventh sonata, written in 1942 and part of his so-called War Trilogy. The Ukrainian pianist Gavrylyuk knows what war means. Childlike innocence and the violence of war in a meaningful recital
Alexander Gavrylyuk makes his debut in the Piano series at the Muziekgebouw with this recital that shows the cruelty in today's world, and which has deep meaning for him. He is an unprecedented, dazzlingly virtuosic pianist, which comes in handy for him in Liszt's Tarantella and the sonata by Prokofiev.
