Anantha Anantha tells the story of eternal change. Singer Prewien Pandohi-Mishre and his ensemble express this theme in music full of growth, tranquility, emotion, and renewal. Traditional Indian melodies are combined with modern sounds, creating a rich and layered musical landscape. The focus is on Indian classical music and the Surinamese-Hindustani tradition, the musical heritage of Prewien, who was born in Suriname. His music flows from style to style, featuring traditional instruments as well as acoustic guitar, flute, double bass, and influences from jazz and blues. Tonight, Prewien will demonstrate how these traditions, once from far across the sea, have come together in the Netherlands and continue to evolve. The result is a warm, inclusive, and contemporary musical experience that showcases the richness of Indian music and its significance for today's world.
