Prewien Pandohi-Mishre Singer and composer Prewien Pandohi-Mishre is one of the leading representatives of North Indian classical and devotional music in the Netherlands. His roots lie in both India and Suriname, and these rich traditions resonate in his warm, expressive voice. Prewien combines the centuries-old Rāga tradition with modern sounds, making his music both authentic and surprisingly contemporary. He completed his Master's degree in Indian singing at CODARTS in 2019 and is actively committed to preserving the classical Indian music tradition. He has appeared on television in VPRO's Vrije Geluiden and in a portrait for NTR's Iedereen Verlicht, among others. Prewien has collaborated with international Indian artists. Recently, he released the song Mama Sranan to mark 50 years of Surinamese independence. This concert also marks the end of the commemorative year celebrating 50 years of Surinamese independence.
