Pianissimo Trio
About the event
Pianissimo Trio plays piano trios by Beethoven, Brahms and Dvořák in the Van Houtenkerk in Weesp. Pavel Fischer, Petr Prause and Katya Apekiseva take you through contrasting styles and atmospheres, from powerful passages to tender moments. Three piano trios by great composers
Pianissimo Trio opens the program with Beethoven's Pianotrio Opus 1 nr. 1. This early work already clearly shows how Beethoven forges piano, violin and cello into one cohesive whole. This is followed by Brahms' Pianotrio Opus 101: a compact and powerful work in which the three instruments are constantly in conversation with each other. Vibrant passages alternate with subdued, lyrical moments. After the intermission, the trio plays Dvořák's beloved Dumky-trio. This work consists of six separate movements, each based on the 'dumka': a Slavic folk music form with a changing character. You will hear melancholy, resilience and exuberant dance intertwined.
Pianissimo Trio: three experienced musicians
Pavel Fischer (violin), Petr Prause (cello) and Katya Apekiseva (piano) together form Pianissimo Trio. All three have extensive international careers as soloists and as chamber musicians. Their interplay is characterized by precision and mutual coordination.
