About the event

Experience the enchantment of Myriam Fares, the Lebanese music star, in an exclusive performance in Amsterdam. Don't miss this unique live experience! Myriam Fares

Lebanese singer, songwriter, and performer Myriam Fares is one of the biggest stars of the Arab music world. Fares incorporates influences from diverse Arab cultures and combines musical traditions with a contemporary sound. In doing so, she manages to captivate a broad audience both in the Middle East and beyond. In addition to her music, she is active as an actress, producer, and entrepreneur, and is one of the most influential cultural voices of her generation.

International milestones

Myriam Fares made history by becoming the first Arab artist to represent Arab culture at a FIFA World Cup with the official anthem Tukoh Taka, alongside top artists Nicki Minaj and Maluma (2022, Qatar). In doing so, she introduced Arab music to millions of people around the world. Her concerts draw thousands of visitors from Beirut to Montreal and from Cairo to Monaco. Her global hit Goumi led to one of the biggest TikTok dance challenges ever. She also became the first Arab artist with her own Netflix documentary, titled Myriam Fares: The Journey.

Live experience

On stage, Fares is known for her impressive energy and her ability to connect different musical worlds and Arabic dialects. Tonight in our Main Hall, she gives an exclusive Dutch performance with her full band!

SOUK - Amsterdam Arabic Festival

Following Myriam Fares' concert, there will be afterparties elsewhere in the building, hosted by SOUK - Amsterdam Arabic Festival (more information to follow). This evening marks the first spin-off of the biennial SOUK - Amsterdam Arabic Festival. During SOUK Presents, a major, contemporary artist from the Arab world takes the spotlight. SOUK Festival was first held at the Concertgebouw in 2005 and is a collaboration between the Concertgebouw, the SOUK Foundation, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. Previous editions have brought artists such as Assala Nasri, Nawal El Zoghbi, Mohamed Hamaki, and Carole Samaha to Amsterdam. With SOUK Presents, the Concertgebouw also brings big names from the Arab music world to Amsterdam with their own shows, outside of the biennial festival.
