History Surrounds: Wooldridge Square Unveiling & Musical Pop-Up Step into Austin's past and experience history where it happened. History Surrounds is an immersive public history experience that combines augmented reality storytelling, oral histories, archival materials, live music, and community programming to explore the many historical layers of Wooldridge Square and the surrounding Block 101 area in downtown Austin. Visitors will be able to experience stories connected to Austin's cultural history, the Woman Suffrage Movement, historic churches and congregations, and the people and events that helped shape the city. Through the augzoo platform, historical photographs, videos, oral histories, and three-dimensional content will appear within the landscape of the park itself, creating a unique opportunity to experience Austin's history in the places where it unfolded. The unveiling celebration will feature live musical performances, opportunities to meet historians and community members, and a community picnic in the park. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, enjoy the atmosphere, and explore the stories of one of Austin's most historically significant public spaces.
