Stop Making Sense (4K Restoration)
About the event
Some movies are meant to be watched in quiet contemplation; others demand to be experienced as a party. We are cranking up Filmhouse’s 7.1 sound system to present the definitive 4K restoration of Talking Heads’ cinematic milestone in all its high volume glory! Captured over three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre in 1983, Jonathan Demme’s concert film opens on an empty stage with David Byrne, an acoustic guitar, and a portable cassette player performing "Psycho Killer." Musician by musician, instrument by instrument, the stage is constructed before the audience's eyes, escalating into an exhilarating, high energy spectacle driven by Talking Heads at the peak of their live performance powers. Whether you're a lifelong fan or discovering the iconic big suit for the first time, join us for an unmissable communal screening that bridges the gap between cinema and live concert! In English.
