Sign-ups *are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! \ Looking to introduce hikers to camping and hiking the majestic Mount Merbabu (3,145m) with a 2D1N camping experience, in a quick and efficient itinerary, such that you can fly on Friday and be back in SG on Sunday! There is an add-on if you wish to join 1 day of R&R, which is Jomblang + Cave Tubing, but primarily the focus is on Merbabu! Mount Merbabu is a beginner-friendly mountain and suitable for those who wish to experience a multi-day hike or mountain beyond Malaysia ones. It is located at Yogyakarta which is famous for the UNESCO heritage temples and Mount Merapi. Unfortunately, Mount Merapi can't be climbed so Mount Merbabu is a better and more beautiful option! We will hike Mount Merbabu (3,145m), which is a dormant stratovolcano, that overlooks Mount Merapi and Yogyakarta. While sadly they do not allow to a traverse route, we will intend to do a slightly longer 2D1N camping trek via Suwanting. At the top of Mount Merbabu, you will be rewarded with an amazing 360-degree unobstructed view of Mount Merapi as well as the other surrounding mountains in the region. One can see 7 significant peaks: Gunung Sumbing, Gunung Sindoro, the Dieng Plateau, Gunung Telomoyo, Gunung Ungaran, Gunung Merapi, and Gunung Lawu. Please note that although it is can be doable for those who are not very experienced as it is not very technical, it will still be tiring as Suwanting is a long route. An open mindset is required =) For this itinerary, we'll start on the day we land so as to save time! Who is this for? ==> One who wish to experience hiking and camping ==> First time to experiencing a proper Indonesia mountain and hike ==> A hike with a beautiful summit view (weather dependent) ==> Open savannah hike and camping under the stars! ==> Something strenuous enough for it to be memorable ==> Step up from Ijen/Batur It is suitable for first-timers to camping as the trek is longer but not too overly strenuous. However, one is expected to walk 6-8 hours up and down per day for 2 days. This is similar to doing 1.5 Mount Ophirs in Malaysia over 2 days Trip Information Total Duration: 4 days Trek Days: 2D1N Flight: SG-Yogyakarta via Scoot. \~300 SGD Flight timings: 4th Sept: Scoot 0805am - 0930am 6/7th Sept: Can depart anytime after as the hike ends on 5th. You can also fly off on 6th if you don't wish to join the R&R.
