Deeper Discussions - Loneliness and Belonging in the Park π³π²
About the event
We can be surrounded by people and still feel unseen, or sit completely alone and feel at peace. Loneliness was never really about how many people are around us. It's about being *known*. We talk about the ache we rarely admit to, and the belonging we're all reaching for. β¨
This is an honest event, so come ready to think openly, listen generously, and share as much or as little as feels right for you. π¬

How to get the best out of this event? β’ Respect: While we explore cultures, this event is not a space for debating but about learning and understanding. No judgement on how different cultures and beliefs shape peopleβs lives. ππ β’ Be open: We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for members from all cultures. You can help by keeping an open mind. π€π§ β’ Share: Feel free to share your own cultural traditions. Everyoneβs perspective is valued, and all stories are welcome. π£οΈπ
Why loneliness and belonging? π‘ It's the quiet epidemic. Almost everyone feels it at some point, and almost nobody says it out loud, because admitting you're lonely can feel like admitting something is wrong with you. It isn't. Loneliness is one of the most universal human experiences there is. π
And belonging, the feeling of being somewhere you don't have to perform, where people actually get you, turns out to be less about crowds and more about being truly seen by even one person.
We will look at that gap, together, with warmth and a bit of honesty. Not to judge anyone, but to understand ourselves and each other a little better.
Who is it for? π
β’ Anyone who has ever felt alone, which is to say, everyone β’ You're new to the city, between friendships, or in a season that's felt a bit isolating β’ You want conversation that gets past "I'm fine" and into what's actually true β’ You can hold space for others as kindly as you'd want it held for you β’ You're open, warm, and ready to listen as much as you share π±
What's in it for you? π
β’ The strange relief of saying the thing out loud, and being met with warmth ποΈ β’ The reminder, felt not just heard, that you were never the only one β’ Real connection with people choosing to be honest right alongside you π β’ A gentler, clearer understanding of your own need to belong, and how to feed it β’ Quite possibly, a face you're glad to see again next time π€
The cure for loneliness was never a bigger crowd. It's being genuinely seen by even one other person. Come and be seen, with people looking for exactly the same thing. π
We really hope to see you there! π
About Deeper Connections We have a mission at Deeper Connections to improve the quality of people's lives through conversation. All our events are centered around the concept of connecting deeply, because we believe we all deserve to be seen, felt and understood for who we really are. To have the 'deeper conversation' approach when relating with others can change our lives and can change the world.
Our Values At the heart of everything we do is empathy: the willingness to understand another person's world before your own. Every value below grows from it.
β’ Empathy: Seek to understand what others are feeling and experiencing, not just what they are saying. π β’ Respect: Treat everyone with kindness and consideration. β€οΈ β’ Open-mindedness: Be open to different perspectives and ideas. π§ π‘ β’ Active Participation: Share your thoughts and engage in meaningful discussions. π£οΈπ¬ β’ Accessibility: We believe meaningful connection should be accessible to everyone. Our community makes this possible by supporting each other. π€
