About The Literary Salon
In the 17th to 19th centuries, Parisian literary salons brought writers, artists, and thinkers together to exchange ideas.
In this tradition, The Literary Salon at NLB is a gathering of curious minds exploring a shared theme. Through conversation and personal reflection, each session is a collective literary experience shaped by the stories participants bring with them.
About the Session: Growing Up Rojak
Do you remember a Singapore where neighbours shared food without hesitation, children played together until the streetlights came on, and life moved at a gentler pace?
Join us for Growing Up Rojak, a lively conversation where seniors and adults come together to reminisce about the multicultural Singapore they grew up in, while celebrating the ever-evolving "rojak" spirit of the Singapore we share today.
Come and swap stories about favourite neighbourhood foods, festive traditions, school days, friendships across cultures, and the everyday moments that have shaped our lives.
Everyone has a story. Come and add yours to the mix at this rojak Literary Salon session!
Registration and Attendance
• Registration is required for this programme. Please register one ticket per person.
• Attendance will be taken using the NLB Mobile app. Please download the app ( https://go.gov.sg/nlbmobile-attendance ) or update it to the latest version. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry.
• Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
