For one night, District on Harrington St stops being a club on Harrington St and becomes a Greek island and you're all invited to the taverna.
Music by: ABBA, Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Chic, Earth Wind & Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, Village People, Diana Ross, Kool & The Gang, Cher, Queen and Michael Jackson with every Mamma Mia anthem plus the entire 70s disco canon behind it, all night, no filler. Six hours in four acts: Kalokairi from 8, the Taverna Disco from 9:30, THE MAMMA MIA HOUR at 11:30, and disco-pop till 2am.
If you know every word to Dancing Queen. If Slipping Through My Fingers still makes you phone your mom. If you've argued about which one of your friends is Sophie, which one is Donna and which one is definitely a Rosie. If you own a pair of dungarees you have never once worn outside the house. Then this is your night.
Dress code: come as a Dynamo. White flares, dungarees, sequins, platform boots, a giant sunhat, oversized sunglasses, Aegean blue and white, or just all the gold you own. R500 bar tab for the best dressed, judged at 11PM.
On the night: free shot on arrival for the first 100 through the door, the Kalokairi photo wall, THE MAMMA MIA HOUR at 11:30 where every ABBA anthem plays back to back with the lyrics on the big screen and nobody mixes a thing, Dancing Queen at midnight with confetti, the Dynamos dance-off, themed cocktails, and film scenes running all night.
