Tokyo Writers Workshop Monthly Meetup

**WORKSHOP:** Our regular monthly meeting, on the third Sunday of (almost) every month. Come join us to workshop your writing (English only) and to discuss the work other members have posted. Each work is discussed for a maximum of fifteen minutes while the writer has the opportunity to listen with an open mind and hopefully learn something of value. Fiction, poetry and other genres all welcome. **Please do not share any of these manuscripts outside our group without permission from the writer.** If this is your first time attending a meeting, please do not submit. **BOOK SWAP:** We are trying something new: a book swap. If you wish to participate, bring at least one book that you can recommend to the group but no longer want to give space for on your own shelves. Be prepared to take home a book from another member. **DEADLINES:** To submit your work for critiquing during the monthly meeting, please post a file in the month's Google Drive folder by the Wednesday before the meeting, midnight (if under 4,000 words) or by the second Saturday of the month, midnight (up to 7500 words of prose or 60 lines of poetry). Be sure to include your name and email on the manuscript and use standard manuscript format. Number the pages. We discuss the first ten manuscripts posted in order of submission. Once there are 10 manuscripts, latecomers will be removed from the folder. Please post your file from the **first** of the month (e.g. Jan 1st, 00:01 onward). If you submitted last month, please wait till the **third** (e.g. Jan 3rd, 00:01) before submitting. Please don’t change the contents of your file after posting, unless there is something seriously wrong with it. Options to Download and Print the files appear in the upper right corner of the folder. You do not have to Download to Print. Note that this folder is not strictly private, but it would be difficult to find it without the above link, and the contents will be deleted after the meeting. Read all files posted in this folder before the meeting. Then take part in the discussions, or make comments via email to the authors. **DIRECTIONS to the venue:** The venue is a five-minute walk from Hatchobori station at the following address: Chuo Ward Gender Equality Center "Bouquet 21" 1-1-1 Minato, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0043 Training room 2 (Western-style room) Take exit B3 from Hatchobori station.
