With Where The Wild Things Are, Rademakers Gallery proudly opens the first solo exhibition by Simone Post on September 12. In her work, she explores the endless possibilities of textiles in a playful and innovative way, transforming the material anew in every piece. Location: Nijverheidslaan 3A9, Weesp Textiles central
In Where The Wild Things Are, Simone has fully immersed herself in textiles, the medium that has formed the basis of her practice for years. With colorful strips and layered compositions, she creates design and wall objects in which memory and fantasy come together.
Residual materials
Using leftover materials from Drifting Through Textiles, an installation she originally created for the Hermès window displays in Amsterdam, Simone Post gives existing materials a new life. In addition, she works with leftover material from the textile industry and fabrics from her personal family archive. By reusing the textiles, she allows them to evolve from one artwork to the next.
