Voices on Stage | Walderez de Barros

MIS launches a monthly program rooted in oral history and theatrical archives. Each session pairs an extended recorded testimony from a significant figure in Brazilian performing arts with historian Rosana Caramaschi, followed by a public discussion led by actor and director Léo Stefanini. All material is videotaped, preserved in the MIS collection and available free for research. August welcomes actress Walderez de Barros, who reaches sixty-five years since her stage debut in 2026. Active across theater, film and television from the 1960s onward, de Barros studied at Teatro Oficina and the CPC da UNE, collaborating with directors such as José Celso Martinez Corrêa, Gabriel Villela, Eduardo Tolentino de Araújo and José Possi Neto. Her honors include the Molière, Mambembe, APCA and Shell awards for Best Actress. She recently appeared in Tio Vânia (2024) and Medea (2026).
