🎮 DMV Nerdettes First Meetup: Drinks, Bites & Arcade Games
About the event
Join us for the very first DMV Nerdettes meetup at GameOn Bar + Arcade on U Street! This will be a relaxed social gathering for women across DC, Maryland, and Virginia who enjoy gaming, anime, comics, science fiction, fantasy, technology, books, movies, cosplay, tabletop games, and everything delightfully nerdy in between. We’ll grab food and drinks, introduce ourselves, play arcade games, and get to know other women in the DMV nerd community. You do not need to be an expert gamer or belong to a particular fandom. Casual fans, lifelong geeks, introverts, extroverts, and curious newcomers are all welcome.
What to expect
We’ll begin with introductions before breaking into smaller groups to explore the arcade. You are welcome to play games, hang out at the table, or simply enjoy the food and conversation.
This is meant to be friendly and low-pressure. There will be no awkward networking pitches, fandom gatekeeping, or pop quizzes about obscure comic-book timelines. 😌
